How to Enable Outlook's Own Dark Mode
Outlook includes a free built-in dark mode. Here is how to turn it on — then see below for a more customizable alternative.
On desktop (outlook.com)
Open Settings
On outlook.com, click the gear icon in the top-right corner.
General, then Appearance
Go to General → Appearance.
Choose Dark mode
Select Dark mode — the interface switches instantly.
On iPhone & Android app
Open Settings
In the Outlook app, tap your profile icon, then the gear icon.
Appearance, then Dark
Tap Appearance and select Dark.
Limitation: Outlook's dark mode darkens the interface, but many emails still render on white and there is no scheduling. Turn Off the Lights applies your own dark colors more consistently across Outlook and every other site.
