How to increase the opacity of the dark layer (up to 100%)?

From right-click menu

ctrl and + (plus) key

And to decrease the transparency value is to use these keys on your keyboard:
ctrl and – (minus) key

When you use one of these keys on your keyboard it saves this automatically in your settings page. So you must not open the Turn Off the Lights options page to change the transparency to a lower value.
