We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Turn Off the Lights\u2019s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. With your technical expertise you manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables. You design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Software Engineer working on Android mobile applications, you\u2019ll drive new innovations and build beautiful user experiences on the largest mobile platform in the world. You\u2019ll work with mobile developers and resources to drive the next generation of apps at Turn Off the Lights. Whether building native applications on Turn Off the Lights\u2019s core products and services – Dark Mobile web browser – or pioneering new visions – like Screenshot Capture – you\u2019ll impact people\u2019s lives wherever they interact with our products – in their homes, on the go, or someplace in between!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will develop applications primarily in Java and using the Android SDK. You might design and develop open-source Android applications that are part of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) or closed-source Turn Off the Lights applications that are the interface to Turn Off the Lights services on Android.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Minimum qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • BA\/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.<\/li>
    • 1 year of professional software development experience.<\/li>
    • Experience with mobile application development.<\/li>
    • Programming experience in Java.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Preferred qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Experience building Android applications.<\/li>
      • Experience in API design, performance optimization, client architecture or tools in the mobile space.<\/li>
      • Native mobile application development experience.<\/li>
      • Knowledge of the Android SDK performance tools and optimization techniques.<\/li>
